Helen Foster Snow was raised in Cedar City, Utah and traveled to China during the Chinese Revolution (1930's-40's). She was one of the few journalists allowed to encounter and exchange ideas with the Communists leaders at that time. Helen made an enormous contribution to the Chinese people through her journalistic work, her rally to mobilize students to get their leaders to fight the invading Japanese, her genius and life-saving creation of cooperatives, and the bridges of understanding she built between the U.S. and China. She was an advocate for the impoverished and a humanitarian who accomplished what no one else has done for a country in such need.
